Key Information
- Use Our Online Form:
The main way to request a GP appointment is through the ‘Contact us Online’ form on our website.
This is available from 8am, Monday to Friday.
If you cannot use the form, please call us on 0161 794 1604.
- All Requests are Triaged:
Every medical request is reviewed by our clinical team to assess your needs. We aim to respond by text or phone within 24 hours, but it is often much faster.
- A Range of Outcomes:
Based on your request, we may offer a same-day or future appointment, provide self-care advice, or guide you to a more suitable service like a local clinic or pharmacy.
- Other Appointment Types:
For appointments with our nursing team or to request a home visit for a housebound patient, please call reception. Please remember to cancel any appointment you no longer need.

Once you have submitted your request online or via the phone, our dedicated practice team begins processing it.
Every medical request is carefully reviewed, or ‘triaged’, by our clinical team. We aim to assess your needs and contact you within 24 hours, though it is usually much faster than that.
Depending on the clinical assessment, the outcome may vary:
- If your issue is clinically urgent, please be prepared to attend an appointment on the same day you submit the form.
- For less urgent matters, we will book you in for a future time.
- A clinician may decide a face-to-face appointment is the most appropriate way to help you.
- We might also direct you to another service that can better help, such as the GP+ Swinton clinic, a local pharmacy, or a winter hub when available.
Important: Not for Emergencies
Our appointment system is not for life-threatening emergencies.
- For emergencies such as severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, or severe bleeding, call 999 immediately.
- For urgent medical advice when the surgery is closed, you can call NHS 111.
